December 18, 2024: Pastor Marcio's First Post

As many of you know, I’m the pastor of Lighthouse Church Madison, WI. For many years now, Lighthouse Church and Lighthouse Christian School Madison has had a close relationship with City Church and Abundant Life Christian School (ALCS - Madison, WI) (ALCS). We love the leadership, staff, members, students and their families of both City Church and ALCS. At Lighthouse, we are saddened by the recent event that happened at ALCS and we join with them in mourning, crying, and also praying to our Lord during this difficult time.

Several families from Lighthouse send their children to ALCS and many Alumni of Lighthouse School go there as well.

One of the victims of the shooting, Samy, who endured life threatening injuries and is in critical condition, is a member and alumni of Lighthouse.

The family of Samy has asked me, as their pastor, to be their voice in the community. They want to thank the community for their support and prayers, they are grateful for the way they have been showered with support. They ask that you please continue to pray for Samy, he needs a miracle. The family understands the power of prayer, and they know that Samy is in God’s hands.

They also request privacy during this difficult time, their focus is on their son and his recovery.

Please note that any social media post, any statement regarding Samy’s status or the family’s, any request for help of any kind (including financial), any medical report etc. that does not come from me, is not official. I’m in contact with the family daily, and they keep me updated on their needs and requests. For now, their request is that we stand with them in prayer and speak life over Samy. Financial assistance can be given to United Way of Dane County - Abundant Life Christian School fund.
